The fantastic Hotel Mondschein has a very understated entrance right onto the main street and it’s not until you venture inside that you realise you are in such a delightfully charming hotel, where hospitality and tradition are king.
Within days of being in this charming village you will begin to feel like a local, enjoying the intimate feel of the small “stuberls” and bars that rest alongside fantastic hotel restaurants priding themselves on being the lesser known sibling of the famous Arlberg resorts.
"Kaluma staff have lived in their resorts for more than a decade and so have close links with hoteliers and have a knack of finding rooms" Tom Robbins, Financial Times

Traditional and historical hotel which oozes character
With a snow guarantee from early December – early May, Stuben is a playground for those looking for early season fresh tracks or the famous late “firn” snow. In many weeks, you will feel like the pistes are exclusively yours.
A handful of blues and reds in the small area are perfect for the beginners and intermediates. The area is easily linked by a lift to the St Anton ski area of Valuga, Gampen and Galzig.
Off piste fans will love the access to limitless powder fields running into neighbouring villages and resorts. Many fields remain untracked and in good condition long after the last snowfall.

If you’re a party animal wanting endless après ski and late night dancing, then Stuben isn’t the right place for you. Although St Anton is just a 15 minute taxi ride away, Stuben is a different entity. Relaxed, and laid back you can expect a fun family holiday or a classic romantic break away from the hustle and bustle of real life!
Cosy hotel bars, some with live music provide the bar scene, which offer the chance to explore a few different venues in the village. Great food and wine coupled with excellent hospitality all help to make Stuben the real hidden gem it is.

The Hotel Monschein has a great Stuberl for lunches where all the food is sourced and grown by the hotel itself and cooked fresh in the hotel kitchen.
Eva-Maria, one of the owners, is Austria’s highest qualified female sommelier and will gladly show you around their impressive wine cellar where they have made a name for themselves by buying new wines from new producers. Many of which have gone on to win top awards in the wine world.
Let us recommend a guide to take you on one of the many “classics” from Stuben to Sonnenkopf or Langen or into the Verwall Valley. You'll enjoy stunning off piste and unforgettable scenery.
